Something I like about camp is meeting new people because I have a lot of new friends. At camp we do math and reading. I did not just grow in academics but as a Christian, too.

global impact

The big picture: Global Impact is about exposing and motivating Pittsburgh youth to fulfill their part of the Great Commission. This missions event gives students the chance to respond to the call of God on their lives and put it into practice that same day, right in the city!

This year we have a "Retro" theme, which means:

  • We will be thanking the youth pastors and volunteers who have attended Global impact as students in the past.
  • We are going to have some awesome T-shirts with a fun retro theme for sale for only $10.
  • 80's themed videos!
  • Most importantly, we are going back to the basics for what Global Impact is all about:  Matthew 28:19 - the Great Commission

Program activities: The schedule comprises interactive learning experiences, opening and closing services, plus hands-on opportunities to minister to the Pittsburgh community through service and evangelism.

Time commitment: 1 day

Event date: May 1, 2010

Venue: Christ Church at Grove Farm in Sewickley, PA

Cost: $20

Urban Impact Experience

The big picture: Urban Impact Experience is a week-long urban missions event where middle and high school students learn, on a small scale, what it’s like to commit to urban ministry.

Program activities: Each day focuses on a different theme which may include education, economics, justice, entertainment, and healthcare that will challenge stereotypes. Participants learn from urban ministry workers what it means to address the needs of the urban poor through holistic, missional approaches. Working alongside Urban Impact staff and leaders in the community, the participants do hands-on projects to meet people’s needs in the inner city.  The goal is to allow youth to recognize the needs of the inner city and to help them in the discernment process of whether they are called to be leaders in this environment.

Time commitment: 1 week

Cost: TBD

Event date: July/August 2011 - Date coming soon!

We will take a one- year break and return in the Summer of 2011.  Make sure to contact us early for a spot!
